Mission Day Highlights Included:
- A special "Mission Moment" at the start of training where all 90+ participants who attended had a chance to say who they were training in honor/memory of
- This was way more emotional than I expected...some of my teammates have lost friends and loved ones DURING their training, others have had friends and/or family diagnosed during training, some know people fighting a daily battle with cancer, and many are in remission, thankfully.
- Water stops along the route so that we could practice under real race day conditions
- TNT cheer stations along the way
- A post-run breakfast with teammates!
My run went pretty well! I ran the full 13.1 miles in 2:32:21, and it gave me the confidence I needed for race day! This was both the longest and farthest I have ever run in my life. There are so many people who have helped me through this journey and they don't even know it. I just want to thank all of my friends on facebook who have offered me encouragement and words of wisdom through my training--you may not think your comments or "likes" on my wall mean much, but they mean a whole lot to me, so thank you, thank you! :]
In addition, I am so excited for my moma to be flying out to Denver to meet me at the finish line! I haven't seen her in 7 months!
T minus 13 days until race day!
